When I think of February, it’s always filled with hearts, red, love, and Valentine’s Day. So how about we start this month with 14 days to loving the skin you’re in?!

The very first thing I want you to do is find one thing every day that you love about yourself. So many of us hate so many things about ourselves that we forget to tell ourselves how amazing we are. We are always worried about the things we want to change. Instead of that, I challenge you to find something you love. For me, I love my smile! I love to smile at other people, so I can see them smile back at me. For us to love others, we must love ourselves first.

Number two! Schedule yourself some YOU TIME. Make time to take care of yourself. The wintertime facial is a great way to jump into some self-care. Get those wintertime blues exfoliated away, leaving your skin with an amazing glow. Self-care does wonders for the soul!

Three: Do a consistent daily skin care routine. With the proper skin products, a daily routine will get you the skin you want!

Four: Don’t forget your eyes! Eye cream is a must-have product and should be used every single day. I started using eye cream when I was 18. The delicate area around the eyes will be one of the first places that starts to age. With the proper use of daily eye cream, it will help to keep your eyes looking bright.

Five: Sleep is so important for everyone. Are you getting enough? I often hear from clients about how tired they are, how they struggle with poor sleep and insomnia, too. I have been there! A lack of good sleep will show up in your skin. Before bed, instead of looking at social media or watching that TV, have a warm cup of tea and read. Do a brain dump! I always write down all the things I have swirling around in my mind, so they don’t keep me up all night long!

Six: I know I talk about this a lot but wash your makeup off your face EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! If you don’t, it will age your skin seven days for every night you don’t wash your face. Yuck!

Seven: Use a Vitamin C serum twice a day on your skin. This wonderful antioxidant will lift, firm, and tighten your face. I love the Jan Marini C-Esta Serum!

Eight: Are you using a Vitamin A serum? The best way to describe what a Vitamin A product will do for you is it will help with all the past damage that your skin has endured. It will improve the texture of your skin, reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. It leaves my skin looking younger and healthier every day.

Nine: Wear your SPF EVERY DAY. No matter what. PLEASE!!!

Ten: It is so important to wear makeup that is good for your skin. I have been wearing Jane Iredale products for the last 15 years. This mineral makeup is good for your skin. There are no added ingredients that will clog, congest, or irritate your skin and it lasts all day.

Eleven: Keep yourself hydrated. Lack of water will make your skin look dry, dull, and dehydrated.

Twelve: Care about what you are eating! Fuel your body with healthy foods: veggies, fruits, lean protein, good fats, and nuts. Poor nutrition shows right through to your skin.

Thirteen: Take daily vitamins with your skin in mind. I started the Skin Omegas, Skin Vitamin A, and Skin Antioxidant from Jane Iredale about three months ago. Did you know that omegas are critical in the renewal of the cells throughout the entire body, including the skin? They also help improve the texture and increase your skin’s hydration levels as well. Vitamin A is a well-known anti-aging vitamin, improving firmness and overall health of the skin. The antioxidant supplement reduces free-radical damage, repairs, and protects the skin to keep it looking youthful. Ask me about these supplements the next time you are in the salon.

Fourteen! Wear lip gloss! Put on your favorite color in the morning and then rock it all day long. That’s what I do!

These are just a few of my favorite ways to love the skin I am in. Remember to be kind to yourself; each day is a gift. If you ever have questions about products or my recommendations, I would love for you to contact me.

Happy February, and here’s to LOVING the skin you’re in.
